“Love Is…” Valentine’s Video-Making Contest

February is the month of hearts! We at Dream Studio’s Director’s Club want to highlight this special occasion, and we want you to be a part of it!

“What Is Love?” Unleash your creativity and use pictures to tell us what love means to you. It does not need to be romantic love: you can also show your appreciation for your parents, your brothers and sisters, your pets, and just about anything and everything that has a special place in your heart.

1. Pictures should be personal and should clearly show what love means to you. Copyrighted images are not allowed.

2. At least two Dream Studio effects should be incorporated in the video.

3. Video entries should have a minimum of five slides. The video does not have to be Sanrio-themed.

4. The use of background music is highly encouraged.

5. E-mail the URL to the Director’s Club (directors_club@hellokitty.com) with the subject “DS Contest Entry: Love Is“. Only the videos that have been sent to this addressed will be recognized as official entries.

6. Multiple entries are allowed.

7. No offensive materials, violent and explicit/sexual content should be used.

8. The competition timeline is between Feb 14 and Feb 29.

9. SanrioTown reserves any rights to use the videos, in whole or in part.

1. The SanrioTown moderators will choose the top entries. Members could then vote for the videos they liked the best.

2. Winners will be announced on SanrioTown.com on the Director’s Club official blog by the first week of March 2008.

3. Winners will be notified by e-mail and the prize sent by courier.

Grand Prize

1. The grand prize winner will win this 1GB LIMITED EDITION Hello Kitty USB Memory Stick, a unique little gadget that’s just about the size of a paperclip! This is not available in stores, so this is truly a special prize for our winner exclusively from SanrioTown!

2. The winner will also receive a Premium E-mail Account here in SanrioTown, where they will get twice the mail storage space, POP3 access and E-mail forwarding.

3. The winning video will appear as the top Editor’s Pick for a week upon winning.

4. A custom badge will be placed at the lower right corner of their winning video, indicating that it has won the grand prize for our contest.

First and Second Runners Up

1. The first and second runners up will also receive one (1) Limited Edition Hello Kitty USB Memory Stick each.

Warning: Those who are trying to lose a few pounds from the weight they gained during the holidays should not watch this week’s video, because they will surely mess up their diet.:P For those who have self-confessed sweet tooths however, this video will be quite a treat!

Each picture seems to be more tempting than the last, and it will surely make your mouth water while watching the video – and maybe even make you rush to the closest bakeshop to get a slice of chocolate cake.

William Shakespeare once said, “What’s in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet.” The Bard certainly had the right idea when it came to the scent of flowers, not to mention that blooms are some of the prettiest things in the world. Mickey1928 certainly thought so too, and that is why she made a video featuring images of really beautiful ones of different kinds and colors.

“Flower pics” showcase some of the prettiest pictures of flowers that one can see. The effects serve to highlight their beauty, instead of distracting the viewer from the pictures to be seen. To cap it off, the beat of the music adds to the appeal of the video, because it’s fun but at the same time, descriptive of the images.

SanrioTown Dream Srudio Video of the Week!

We’re right smack in between Christmas and New Year, so what better way to celebrate this season by featuring a video highlighting the holidays- but with a Sanrio twist? “Merry Christmas Hello Kitty“, made by filipinogirl, is a collection of holiday pictures featuring Hello Kitty, and occasionally joined by her twin sister Mimmy, Dear Daniel, and her other friends. There is even a mini-story in the video, what with the captions added by the maker of the video. Also, if you pay attention to the slides, you’ll be able to catch a few surprises that would make you smile.:D

Who doesn’t love babies? Just about everybody loves the cute little ones. Add Hello Kitty to the picture, and you have something that’s absolutely irresistible.
This is exactly what mickey1928 had in mind when she made her video, “Baby Pictures“. Wee versions of Hello Kitty and Dear Daniel welcome you on the first slide, and this is followed by some of the most adorable pictures of tots that you could see.

Not only does it feature decors for the holiday season, it also has stuff that can be used all year round, like cups, utensils, and mobile phone decorations, all of which bear the cute face of Hello Kitty. This would be something that KT lovers would surely love to watch, and perhaps, even give people ideas on what items should be part of their wish list.

Dream Studio Video of the Week!

Anywhere you go, you’ll find a Hello Kitty lover. Maybe that’s why she is always depicted as going on tours around the world, so that she’ll be able to relate and “visit” her fans from all over.

 

This week’s featured video showcases some of the “country incarnations” Kitty has had over the years, but with a fun twist. Made by yoshisland, the video is called “Around the World”. It’s really quite interesting to watch, because the creator didn’t just put in pictures of Hello Kitty wearing different costumes: she narrates a short story about our favorite white cat visiting these different countries, with cool trivia and even a greeting in the language of that place! It’s really a fun video, not only because of the cute images, but also because you get to learn some new stuff too.

Throughout the years, Sanrio’s released adorable characters that people have come to know, love, and maybe, be inspired with. Such might be the case of this week’s featured video, because it shows adorable fuzzies created by the video maker herself.

SchoolTime Introduction, this week’s Dream Studio Video of the Week, is made by veedeck, an 11-year old aspiring artist. She features her self-created characters in her video, a bunch of adorable animals complete with their colors and names. She presents each of her fuzzies in a very creative way, maximizing the effects of Dream Studio by making these appear as though they really were meeting on the slides. Dream Studio Video of the Week!

Gone are the days that fathers are not involved with their children’s lives. Dads are now hands-on with how they handle their sons and daughters, taking the time to spend time with them, teaching them, playing with them, and just hanging out with them. This week’s featured video is proof of this, because a father was the one who actually made it, in honor of his family.

His video “Happy Family” not only features his wife and his son, but also his nephews (check out his blog for more details). The slide show has pictures of his family, especially the children, laughing and having a good time.
